The Brant County Fire Service has changed from their NXDN system to DMR. All comms are taking place on 152.780, which was the old paging frequency. Paging and dispatch are now both done on this frequency. Paging is done on slot 1 with dispatch and other comms on slot 2. I will submit the info to the database.

Brant Dispatch is talking with Spectrum Communications tech as I write this. Doing an Emergency Signal test from one of the radios as a demonstration.

You say each station has their own talkgroup? What happens when 2 stations are on 2 different calls on TS2? Do they have a simplex tac channel or something for fireground operations?
Seems odd for each dept to have their own group...But spectrum does do strange things

I wonder if they're simulcasting the pageouts in analog? I don't see 153.845Mhz anymore so it might be a possibility.

I wonder if they're paging on Brantford's 800MHz system?

A G5 doesn't make any sense at all unless they've got some sort of analog paging. Something doesn't add up.

Is the system meant to provide paging coverage outside of Brantford and about the only way the G5's will be useful if they are on the system is if they setup individual groups for each station.

My guess is maybe reception issues with it given how rural Brant county is outside Brantford?, or maybe they were having repeated tech issues with it?.
