OK. I never heard any data channels down in that range when I last checked. In comparison, the current data channel was active many months before the system actually came online in 2005.

I entered in those frequencies in my PSR600 and I'll see what happens. So far, no data channel is active, but I'll be watching it.

The article I saw was vague. They could just be referring to a separate system with interoperability via ISSI. We'll have to wait and see. Let me know what you find (confirmed) before we start making a lot of changes. Thanks.

You might be right about that. It would explain why College Station has a site even though they probably spent a buttload on rebanding their current system. I also do find it quite odd that they would have so many sites placed in such a small area like that.

The College Station site is on the same site as the current system behind Aldersgate church. I would imagine that they will still use the rebanded frequencies from both current systems, as only 5 channels in Bryan would create some busy beeps.

I suspect part of the reason I haven't picked up anything yet is because there are no transmitters set up yet. I didn't notice any changes to the CS tower, nor to the one on top of the county dispatch center off of Texas and WJB.

Has anyone heard anything further on this? I have not observed any actvity on the new system, even though I've had it in my scan list on my PSR600 for weeks now.

No, not lately. Just keep scanning like I am, but don't expect anything too fast. It may be months before they have it on the air.

I did notice that the recent news entry in the Brazos County DB page mentions the new system, but fails to mention the fact that it will be part of HCRRS.

Does anyone know if this system will be a pure ASTRO P25 system or a mixed-mode like the current system?

I put the news section in there so that people watching for the new system would remember to check in on all frequencies currently in use. Case in point: 857.4375 on the CS TRS is no longer on the air. Where did it go? *thinking*

Bryan went quiet yesterday. My pro-106 stopped picking them. Anybody know what happened?

Rebanded

Just heard that the City of Bryan flipped the switch on there new rebanded frequencies yesterday.

Yes. Here are the frequencies I've found so far:

858.2625
852.2000
853.1625c
852.8625
853.4375
851.9000
853.7875
852.5625

These seem to be all of them; I don't think I'm missing any traffic.

Rebanding tables are the same as those for College Station.

As for the 700 stuff, I now have absolutely no idea what those will do.

Remember that recently Caldwell County had their site rebanded and within two months the 700MHz site was up and using 5 frequencies. They decided to reband (knowing that this new TRS was coming) in case they ran in to problems with the new TRS, they'd have something to revert to that was "legal."

That sounds somewhat similar to what Walker County did when they went to HCRRS. They were first using the analog system and then went to the digital system. As for Brazos County, I suspect you might be right about this. Since the deadline for rebanding is coming soon, they had to reband the existing system to keep it in compliance until the new 700 stuff is set up. However, it's important to note that I have not seen a data channel come up on the new 700 site, even though a newspaper article said back in December that the system should have at least been up and running for preliminary testing by now.

wow. so HCRRS is growing by leeps and bounds i wonder if there are plans to merge the other new p25 TRS in north texas and other parts of the state with it. the more i am reading about it. by the time everyone has p25 pII on the TRS there will be muti-State TRS popping up.
