• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Come on Erik, you slacker. Can't believe you didn't have this one. Spending a little too much time in an unpressurized plane, eh? :)

Forgot a couple, but you got alot of them, most of which I wouldn't know, you did good there. One I didn't see is NCMC - North Colorado Med Center. Trying to think of others at the moment.

Any way we can make these abbreviations some sort of sticky or permanently put them at the top of the breaking news thread?

Sure, I can add them to the sticky that's already there. If we have any more, just post them here and I can add them to the Sticky

Yes, ALS is Advanced Life Support. This is the skills performed by either an Advanced EMT/EMT-Intermediate/EMT-Paramedic/or Registered Nurse. Whereas, BLS is Basic Life Support which is performed by First Responders or the EMT-Basic.

Thanks for the ALS...

I'll add this one LZ=Landing Zone, say Airlife or Flight for Life is coming in and they need a place to land, usually i hear them say we need a LZ set up.
