Breaking News - Explosion NW Calgary

Parts of a residence have been destroyed in an explosion in the Hidden Valley area. Initial reports imply that one male has been seriously injured in the blast. Fire, EMS, and Police are all on scene dealing with the situation and are monitorable on the Calgary DRS (753f).
More details will follow as they are obtained.

Its a very, very, unfortunate incident but it strongly reinforces why reading labels and using caution and common sense around flammable substances (in this case I bet more than likely W.H.M.I.S controlled products) is so important.

When I post Breaking News, I tend to post it when it is actually breaking
It was on the 11th at around 8:30pm MST. It didn't progress into anything truly out-of-control, which is why I didn't add to the thread. DX's link to the CityBeat press release summed it up just fine.
