All tires deflated/destroyed, vehicle on rims went off road appx 3 km E of Hwy 22 on Hwy 1
2C6 is lead vehicle - I think that's either Canmore or Banff HP. 2 people in custody appx 5 km east of Hwy 22.
Reports indicate it is a stolen vehicle - hit at least 2 spike belts, one at Jumping Pound Rd and one at Hwy 22.
HAWC2 was on the channel but has just cleared, returning to the city.

Heard some juice on this one from a colleague who was transferring stuff between firehalls and happened to be right in the mix.
New-ish GMC type pickup was stolen (from where, I don't know) and being pursued eastbound on Highway 1 by Canmore members. The truck ate one spike belt at Jumping Pound Creek ("we're missing a lot of spikes, so he must have gotten it good" - radio traffic) and was still going between 170kph and 120kph by the time it hit a second one at Hwy 22. All four tires ended up being destroyed, and the truck drove into the center median at the top of the hill just east of 22, spinning around a couple times as the driver tried to get traction on bare rims. Approximately 783 zillion cops with guns surrounded the truck and took two occupants of the truck into custody, returning them to Canmore detachment for arrest processing.
And my colleague.. who is a semi-professional photographer.. didn't have his camera with him yesterday

I heard that chase on A4 as well.
That was halarious to listen to, had it on the cochrane repeater;
That channel was at capacity, people rambeling on all over the place from all deatchments.
I went by the next day to see the skidmarks in the ditch, looks harsh haha; almost mde it over the hill.

I would have paid to see the vehicle running down the road on all 4 rims. I bet thats going to be an expensive repair job.
