Does any body have a PRO96 file for the Brevard Cty EDACS TRS. If so leave me a PM. There are many talkgroups to choose from and I would like to know which tgs would be worth programing in and which to leave out.

In decimal.

"What's the deal on scanners? What would I need to get Brevard Co. Sheriff Office and Emergency calls? I live near the Merritt Island Fire Dept. and hear the sirens all the time and wonder if I'm missing something big. Is there a catch-all scanner?"
Does he need trunking in that area? Is anything encrypted? He's also a huge NASA fan, so if there is anything he can pick up in that regard, that would be helpful too.
My radios are the Uniden BC246T, Pro92 and Pro97, so I am somewhat familiar with trunking and programing via computer.
Thanks,
Tim

How ever if he is also interested in NASA/Patrick AFB he would need to get a trunktracker 4 scanner....Uniden 396 or the mobile version and or the Radio Shack Pro 97. Nasa & Patrick are digital. A good place to start is here in the Database section of Florida/Brevard and also http://home.cfl.rr.com/scanner/. Good Luck
I live much furthor than your brother does and I can hear both Nasa and PAFB from the supplied rubber duck antenna. Yes they both have encrypted but alot of traffic that is NOT.mort3770 said:If he went TT4 (digital), how much NASA stuff would he realistically be able to hear from Merritt Island? How far do their signals transmit? Is their stuff encrypted?
