Is anyone in the listening area having issues receiving this system on 482.5125? I live in New Bedford and haven't heard anything on it for months. I can get the Bristol County Fire Network on 471.650 with no problem at all.

Ive lately heard Seakonk ans Swansea talking on the County Frequency but the signal is pretty low here in New Bedford
so the repeater may be toward the RI Boarder Maybe around Attleboro or even Fall River.

The County Car to Car 482.3875 Is pretty active hear in the city

The County Fire does a check in so I always get them.

Looked up WPQF378
Shows the tower at the prison on Faunce corner road Dartmouth
Well the prison is in a low area with no tower - The cell tower at Rose motors has no UHF on it.
So possibly I was listening to Base to Base with no repeater from Seekonk and Swansea on 482.5125

County fire has Multiple towers on the Map.

The County Regional 482.5125 is run by BAPERN-Boston Area Police Emergency Radio Network. It is licensed to Greater Boston Police Council under WPZY244, showing 3 sites Easton (100W), Middleboro (20W) and Fall River (70W) as transmitter sites. There is a weekly radio test on Friday at 0830 hrs for those that are interested. The MSP also show BAPERN on there system with a Southwest TG 40720. I have it in my scanner but have never heard it active. Hope this helps some.

Low Signal.
You can tell the Repeater is pretty far from New Bedford.
The audio is OK but the Sub tone was pretty loud.

That not due to my radio's or filtering - Its noticable on multiple radios.

Besides 482.5125 I also get Attleboro on the VHF RI Intercity (158.970) and that signal is the same - just weak in New Bedford.

I have 40720 plugged into Zone 3. I don't think I have ever heard anything on this Talkgroup.

Ive never heard anything either.

The only active one is 40464 Bapern Area 3 Boston. in fact last night its was being used.

Looking up Bapern's UHF frequencies 482.5125 is S West Bristol County and 482.8875 is South East Plymouth county So i added it to the 15X to see if its active.

I also saw on A posting you made way back that 452.4500 is an Intercity for New Bedford
So i Added it to see if they still use it for special events. The EMS frequency is not used anymore.

It could be [guessing as none of us are the system admins] that the Patching may only occur when
a. Someone is affiliated to that specific Zone
b. Patch may have been removed to keep the loading down
c. We can make so many guesses/speculations

IT would be interesting to hear from monitors of Zone 4 and 6 if they hear 40464 or if it is only on Zone 3/5

I’m 50 miles from Bapern area 3 Boston on uhf so I’m only getting them on 40464 on the trunk

I’m just going to monitor bapern on uhf and trunk to see if there or when patched they match up for the south east and south west Bristol and Plymouth counties

Dukes county is so old school on vhf hi it’s easy to get down here

Today March 25th Bapern SW 482.5125 was used at 9:30 pm and I heard South East 482.8875 used at 5pm

both did not show up on Trunk zone 3 or 4 .
