When it rains things tend to grow right? Been wet this year and Southern Oklahoma seems to be growing!

I'm getting Bryan County Fire on 151.2725 NAC 122 which is licensed to the City of Durant Emergency Management, Callsign WQVF211. But it don't stop there, I am also hearing them on 158.7825 DCS 371 Licensed to Bryan County Firefighters Association WQKB747.

Its interesting, looking through the FCC Licenses Bryan County seems to be dropping many of its licenses and letting Durant pick them up. I know the county is struggling a little with its lack of finances and keeps losing bond packages in local elections, this is splattered all over local news channels in between the narcotic arrests by Lighthorse PD!

Got some showers in SOSU too. Submitted a new SOSU Police repeater; 154.8750 NAC 151 WNSO678 and the campus DMR operations channel 453.8125 CC-5 also on WNSO678, It has a TGID but I'm fighting propagation right now so its hiding itself.

On a side note, there are some 800 MHz frequencies that seem to belong to OKWIN but I'm too far to lock a control channel to be able to verify if these go to that.

851.37500000
851.57500000
851.77500000
852.55000000
853.32500000
853.88750000

Something else I've noticed, odd it seems too, There is very little licensed for Business Trunked Radio in Bryan County. I'm wondering if whoever is supposed to be licensing radio systems is maybe playing in thunderstorm water puddles? Maybe out Noodling in the swollen creeks?

What do you believe is missing? It's a low population area. There is probably no demand for business trunked systems besides utilites with wide area systems.

My county is about 120,000 population. There are two business LTR trunked systems with a total of about 3 active users and the two taxi companies probably woudn't even exist if there wasn't an air force base here.

I don't know if this site is on the air yet. It's not in the database.

I can't track it, too far away. I can't even get the Marshall County tower except sometimes 1 bar at night. I'm hard pressed to get any OHP 700 MHz activity, when I do though it's off the Antlers or Rattan repeaters.

The FCC Database for Bryan County used to be big. Choctaw Nation had a lot of trunked stuff for one, now it's OG&E and a metals company. So either everyone dumped Trunked radio in Bryan County or whoever manages most of the FCC licenses is slacking off. The conventional is even lighter than it used to be.

Lastly, If you scan all of the older channels licensed to Bryan County Government going back 5 years, much of it is abandoned. West Bryan County Fire for one, I've not heard that used in at least 5 years. Also, there seems to be a bunch of stuff licensed conventional analog that is not active DMR. I'm listening to a channel right now licensed to the city of Durant that is running DMR. The same for channels licensed to Antlers and Idabel. Could be the FCC too, maybe they got DOGED ..

There isn't somebody that manages all FCC licenses in each county.
Businesses, and in some cases public safety, are using cellular based applications more and radio less.

The database is only good in areas where there are RR members that submit changes. That doesn't happen everywhere.

It's not the fault of the FCC if licensees let their licenses expire, don't modify their licenses when system changes are made, or don't cancel licenses when they are no longer used or the licensee goes out of business, gets bought or merges with another business, or otherwise no longer exists.
