• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

In the Metro Area Quick Hops of the database I am seeing small towns such as Iowa City, Quad-Cities and Waterloo/Cedar Falls. Actually there seem to be about 5 different areas all in Iowa. I don't know if this is by design or not but thought it may be worth pointing out in case there is a bug with the displaying of metro areas.

I think it looks esthestically pleasing in the layout to have representation from all of the alphabet . I feel it was done by design rather than a "bug".

Even if you'd never look up Quad Cities at least you know that Phoenix is before and Raleigh is after it. :)

Metro area quick hops are arbitrarly defined metro areas, meaning admins determined what the metro area is, and what counties belong to it.

Here soon I'll probably reevaluate what metro areas we have and their names.
