• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Over the last few days, Burleson County (155.535) has been patched on and off to TGID 4008. Today, it seems the dispatch end is fully on TxWARN, while the mobile units are being patched from the VHF with dispatch being simulcasted on VHF. This followed what appeared to be coverage tests on the Brazos County VFD NEO channel this morning.

UPDATE: The TG has gone silent again as of around 10 PM last night, and I haven't heard it since.

Burleson County was patching their VHF dispatch channel to one of the Regional BVWACS talkgroups because officers from other agencies were filling in and taking calls in the jurisdiction. One of the Deputies was killed in the line of duty serving a search warrant. The patch may be taken down as of now.

Thanks. That's kind of what I thought.
