Are there any business trunk radio systems in Las Cruces? Or are they all using cell phones?
Listening to the Checker Cab channel is getting kinda boring; and the other cab company's conversations, I think, are scrambled (sounds like Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse, both eating and arguing at the same time). Don't need a digital scanner around here....., that's for sure.

Go to your county in the database
Click on FCC Licenses
Click on Display All FCC Licenses
Turn off everything except Business Trunked
You should then see only business trunked systems: FCC Licenses and Scanner Frequencies for Dona Ana County, New Mexico (NM)
You won't be able to trunk track Passport systems but you can listen to them in conventional mode.
You won't be able to listen to iDEN systems (Nextel) at all.
Probably everything else is LTR, assuming that they really exist.

Actually.... you will need a digital scanner in time. However all of Alamo, Otero sheriff plan to go encrypted for most of there operations. I know dps will keep some traffic open. Though most of the deputies are wanting to put OCSD in total dark to scanners.

Are not the Alamo DPS and SO still high band VHF, conventional scan? or have they started 800 digital?
Thanks
