Ok, i figured i coulda found some pics on google, but no. I need to know whats the best way to run a few lmr400uf lines through the roof? I was thinking an electricial service entrance weatherhead, or some pvc pipe or a dwv vent? Also thiniking about running a piece of electricial conduit with a box on the top... Any ideas guys?????

what about a reversed P trap configuration.
Basically, use a flashed sewer vent pipe, with a 180 degree elbow to point back down to the roof to keep out elements, and stuff with fibergalss insulation after wires inserted.

ditto, though we try to never run directly out a roof. we come out the gable or under the eave whenever possible as we don't want to be responsible for a leak later.

Also, go bigger than you need. You have a great portal there, once you run one wire, you'll find a reason to need more, so if you have the wire, even if just a cheaper wire, run it at same time and cap it off. Don't forget about a properly placed polyphaser too.

This is a good time to consider a home weather station too. Don't you just love how we can spend your money for you.

Here is what you do :
Go up in the attic and drill a hole in the side of the plumbing vent pipe, then go up on the roof and fish the wires out

Just be sure to leave a drip loop inside the vent pipe to keep the water out.

Works like a charm.

if you drill thru a vent pipe, SEAL THE HOLE once the lines are in place. if not you will get sewer gas in the attic. in rare cases this can be dangerous, but in most cases it is just a bad stink. this method is the least desirable method you can use, so i recommend you find another way first.

if any of these antennas will be for transmit, do not run any data lines with them. put a 2nd penetration for those. i saw a weather station that periodically would show a temperature swing of +/- 100F eveyr now and then. turned out they ran the data cable from the outdoor unit in the same conduit as the coax for the low band and VHF bases. key either one and it drove the controller nuts!

It is never a good idea to make a hole in any roof. I always search out any possible other location
to bring cables inside. Have you looked to see if you have access to the eave vent on the end of
the building. Normally there is just a screen inside to keep the bugs and other critters out..

Making any hole in the roof is a potential leak and are hard to seal. If you are insistent about it,
make sure you have a good way to keep out driving rain. Make sure it is large enough to do the
job for twice the amount of cables you need today. Then figure out how to seal it to keep the
dark gray squirrels out. They don't need much space and can wreak a house in short time.
Some copper brillow scrub pads will work fine to stuff down a pipe. Don't use the steel type
as they will rust and burn like hell from just a spark.
