Does Cal Fire still use Hemet Ryan as a fire aircraft base or did they move elsewhere?
Also does anyone have a list of where the Cal Fire air bases are in California?
I tried searching Wiki but the search leaves a bit to be desired.
Thanks, Randy

I can confirm that Hemet Ryan is active, VERY active. They fly over my QTH all the time.
I thought they were still operating but I had a family member say they had closed due to budget cuts and the aircraft had been moved to other bases. Thought this would be a major mistake as they cover most of Southern California. Good to hear they are still flying from Hemet Ryan.

Yup they're running strong time of year. I'm frequently near the airpport and some of them com in like they're landing on an aircraft carrier!
Sheriffs Star 9 and Mercy Air live there too.

One thing to remember, in Ca most aircraft can be deployed and on scene in about 75 minutes, from any station.
Not unusual to see norcal aircraft here in socal on fires and vise versa.
When Angeles and LACoFD share an assignment, like the Route fire on Saturday, there was tons of equipment deployed.
Its their rapid response setup.
