Calgary Police Districts & Vehicle Numbers

I've check around and can't find much info on the Calgary Police Service

I did find a District Map at:

I see from the map they also have sub districts ...
ie 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4, 6-5, 6-6 or 8-1,8-2, 8-3, 8-4

My question is ... How does the CPS number their cars?
Or is there any system to it?
Is there a special number for special units? ie traffic, supervisors, K9

Districts are divided into zones......eg: 6-1 is zone one in district six.

Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, & 8 will have 4 numbers. All start with 1, then the District number, then the zone number and last a car number.

District Sgt's are numbered 01 - 09 (eg: 1401 or 1209) and the duty inspector is 2900.

Districts 5 & 7 are combined into the North Division/District so the vehicles will show N, then 3 numbers. Sgt is N01.

The number on the car is not always the radio call sign they are using.

Cainine units are 3K9 etc.

Traffic Sgt is 4401 and all traffic units start with 44 (eg: Truck unit 4482)

Other sections/units use other 4 digit sequences.

Training, and training north makes sense, but mountain bike doesnt seem correct. Im almost positive Ive heard them responding to pri 1 calls in the suberbs at 2am countless times.

It is correct. They have vehicles as well - they aren't always on their bikes.
