Good Morning Everyone.

I got up extra early today after a discussion on another thread about the "Fact" that the RRDB is out to lunch when it comes to what's on the air on the Stampede owned Motorola tower on the Roundup Building.

I spent close to an hour down there and found out that the main talk groups for security, facility maintenance, parking control, first aid and transportation were all still valid.

The only main change they made is instead of having 852.0125 and the main control channel and 852.2625 and 852.5125 as alternate control channels, they re-configured the system so there is only one Control Channel 852.2625, and moved to having 6 working channels.

I have updated the system on the RRDB and when the download is active Monday AM you can load them up and listen to your hearts content.

On the grounds this year CPS is using A12 for the paid duty channel for the gates and if there are private security they are going to be bringing in their own simplex HT's

Be aware that the repeater is VERY LOW POWER and I lost it on the other side of the train tracks to the north, and Calgary Tower to the West.

Happy Scanning, and Happy Stampedeing! (Please, don't make me or my friends work for their money and if your going to drink, have a safe way home, Taxi, Limo, Transit, or DD. If the paid duties at the gate think your too drunk for any of them its a $450 bill for a ride to the nearest hospital if your lucky, if your un- lucky you will wake up with no shoe laces in a cinder block room with a gym mat for a bed!

Stay Safe and Have Fun!

After going over the old TGID's we have updated them all and they should be current for the 2016 Stampede.

It's clear however the repeater needs more channels because everyone is cutting each other off. After parking with in distance of the site it's Kerchunk after Kerchunk.

Its also looks like CPS is using A13 on the grounds for patrol in addition to A12 for the gates

I have been logging the TG's from my place in Marda Loop getting a solid 3/5 bars with a Larsen WB VHF antenna.

Definitely a lot more traffic than I have heard before, my favorite department to listen to so far is 'Mech Ops' Those guys sound like they know how to enjoy themselves. Least favorite, Parking Control.

The two TG's I got that are not listed are 304 & 928. Not sure what they are used for though

I was there last night ...
Had alot of action on TG 960
But couldn't identify who they were ...
Only a short time left ... then it's over for another year.

I can confirm: TG's
48, 80, 112, 144 (Ch#5-Grandstand), 272, 288 (Sounded more like security than Animal Svc)
336, 368, 400, 528, 560, 624, 672 (Ch#3-Very Active EMS), 704, 720, 768, 800
816 (didn't sound like cash control - can anyone confirm?), 880, 928 (unknown svc)

Well I have updated what I can,

As for Cash Control, they use simple codewords, just like they walk around unescorted with generic backpacks. Security through Obscurity.
