I have an SDS200.....been running pretty well with the system I programmed into it a while ago. And I have done minor updates to the FL, like new talk groups/freqs etc. I have both Sentinel and Proscan. Normally use Sentinel. I want to make a backup of the contents in my current sd card that in the radio. Just in case. So can I simply just copy the contents on the OLD card and paste into the NEW card? Then if needed I will have a decent backup ready to go.

#1: Make sure the SD card is properly formatted. Use the recommended SD Formatter.
SD Memory Card Formatter for Windows Download | SD Association

#2: Make sure to copy the contents of the entire drive (mounted SD card).

An alternative is to read the old card first using Sentinel, thus ensuring it has all your updates.
Then, format the new card, put it in the radio and then initialize it using Sentinel's clear user data. Once this is done, write to it using Sentinel.

If your computer has a card reader, the process is much faster using it, rather than the scanner. (Just need to remember which drive letter is associated with card reader and "Display All Drives" when clearing user data.)

And since you are doing this for one SD card, consider getting a second for a backup and repeat the process.

I have an external card reader. I was able to just format the new card and copy the contents of the SDS200 sd card to the new sd card....popped in radio and its working fine. Thanks!
