Hi all

I am looking for someone who can program this scanner. I can never quite get it set up right. I can make it work but I dont really know how to make the most out of this $500+ scanner and that bothers me a bit.

I live in Clinton twp and I would be glad to pay someone to set my scanner up more efficiently.

My name is Dave and you can contact me at 313 451 0448

Or you can shoot me an email at motorcityreo@gmail.com

Thank you in advance!

I have tried but I can never seem to get it set up correctly. These have to be the least user friendly scanners out there...

I have had the same problem it takes time to learn. use the pc sentinel software to make favorites, you need to connect the scanner to the pc and up load to the scanner. there are different systems a station can use make a favorite for each. make favorites then you can turn on and off the favorites in the menu. i'm still learning hope that helps watch you tube videos.

Thank you to all of you guys. I had 4 people reach out to me and they helped me tremendously...I really appreciate all of the great advice!

I figured out how to get the lists I want to import to my scanner...However no matter what I do I can not assign more that 4 favorites to individual quick keys. I still have it working though.

If I want to hear more I just use the location feature. I will be sending my radio in for the gps upgrade. Hopefully that will be a good upgrade for me. We shall see....I will report back.

One thing I learned is...I have to set up all my favorites at 1 time...Then clear the memory on my scanner out....Once I do that I can import my favorites I just created. If I don't do it that way the scanner will not import all of them and they will not be in the radio no matter what I do.

I don't get it but at least I got my radio working for the most part...I will keep messing with it until I finally figure it all out.

Hi Dave,
I’d be happy to help you program your 436. I use BuTel’s ARC536 software which I think is much more user friendly than the Sentinel software. Yes, being a third party vendor, they do charge for their product, but it’s easily downloaded, reliable and worth every penny. I don’t charge to help a fellow scanner enthusiast, so if you’re interested, email me at j1022b@yahoo.com. - John

Can you elaborate on this for him and me? I've asked this before and no one will compare them. They just say download evaluation version and choose but I don't want to do that..
