cant hear specific channel

So I can hear all the surrounding towns but mine. It does not specify on here that it is encrypted so I assume it's not. I couldn't hear the one frequency i wanted to hear on my little boafeng, so I got ahold of a uniden BC355N because I had heard that the frequency I wanted to listen to was on the 800s, still cannot hear it and whenever something comes across the channel, its just static

Unless you tell us where you are and what you are trying to hear we really can't help you.

That said, the BC355N is not a digital scanner and is not capable of Digital Radio system monitoring, (e.g. Project 25, DMR, NXDN). Most radio systems in the 800 MHz range are trunked and digital, neither of which that scanner can handle.
