Canton Going Digital?

I am hearing Canton MI. doing radio checks on the digital system with the other departments that are digital this morning, does anyone know if canton is in the process of going digital?

Be just a bit more specific please. You say digital ok, so did you hear this on the MPSCS? If so what talkgroup? They possibly could be range testing, but with no towers in the area(the closest one being Northville) It is highly UNLIKELY that they would ever switch. Their VHF system with multiple reciever sites is working just fine for them.

With the new news about wayne county swiching to the MPSCS there is a remote possiblitly that the coverage is decent enough for them to switch. I would not look for it to happen anytime soon though.....

Ok, well that system is their neighboring system. However, that system has been plauged with problems. Problem number 1 is there is only 1 tower. That is in Westland. It "could" provide adiquate coverage for them. I will have to monitor this a bit more closely. They may have been doing some sort of testing for mutual aid purposes. That makes sense.

when i heard canton calling westland for a radio check it was over westland's primary p.d. channel and fire also the same for the city of wayne.
