If you have a belt clip on the portable scanner, put a zip tie in and around one of the ac vents on the dash,then put the belt clip thru the loop. That is what I did, and it works great.

Careful...many car A/C vents are quite flimsy. You could wind up with a bunch of little plastic pieces all over the place. I'm thinking velcro. Easy to remove the scanner and take it inside that way. Just my two cents...
