• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Hi R and all,

156.675 Ship to Cruise Terminal

Where did you come up with this oddball between channels 13 and 14?

156.725 Ship to ship

And this one between 14 and 15?

It seems like you confused 13 - 156.650 - Intership Navigation Safety with that one, the others you listed are standard VHF coastal marine channels.

Carnival seemed to finally Standarize the channel Plan for their Ships.

http://home.earthlink.net/~ecps92/frequencies.htm

457.5250 Ch. 1
457.5500 Ch. 2
457.6000 Ch. 3
468.3250 Ch. 4
469.9500 Ch. 5
464.2750 Ch. 6
464.3000 Ch. 7
464.3250 Ch. 8

Curious that 457.5750 is not in the new channel plans.

Monitoring

Depends on the Ship.
Wattage of the Repeater.
Location of the Actual Antenna.

In Boston, we have heard them 5-10 mi from Port.
Better when at the Shore and listening to them at Sea.

I am curious as to how far away you can monitor these ships. Considering how far they travel out to sea, I wonder if I would I be able to hear them from the NJ shore?
