Will the remtronix antenna improve reception at all over the stock antenna? Is it worth spending $45 on one?

Both antennas will fit the BCD396T. The 820s is 800 MHz specific, while the 842s is multiband. Both will increase performance.
The 810s also looks like it will fit the bcd396t which the 820s has a o ring and doesn't look like it will it is only for the sds100. So would you recommend the 842s or 810s if im trying to improve 700/.800mhz reception?

The 810s will improve your 700/800 reception better than the 842s. The 820s O-ring is specifically for maintaining the water resistance of the SDS-100. I personally use the 800B with the SMA-BNC adapter that came with the radio, as I switch antennas frequently depending on what I'm listening to and where.

I’m I bought the bcd396t used from a user selling on here just looking to be able to increase 700 800 MHz trunking so I’ll probably go to with the 810s then.
