I understand that the Cass County Sheriff will be going digital very soon. Anyone heard any of this?

I understood Cass County Fire/EMS would soon be going to NEXEDGE.. unsure about the Sheriff's Office.

I know there are plans to narrow the county wide fire/ems system next month, but not go digital. No department is prepared for that!!!! Not sure either about sheriff was just hoping someone might know.

As of now I still hear everyone in Cass County on their existing systems in place. I also sent you a PM.

Well it is obviously happening somewhere in the county or they wouldn't have a license for it. And really for the officers, I hope it is for the sheriff. They need something better that what theyve had for the past few years. If it is nxdn, won't be able to scan it.

Sure looks like it. The address on the license and the Cass Cnty Sheriff's office are the same.

There is now some kind of heartbeat on all of those nxdn channels. I can hear them all except the one that shows for Beardstown.

I haven't heard much activity on 151.1975. Can anyone in Cass County confirm whether or not they switched over to the new system?

Just becase its a digital system doesn't mean it will be a better system, you don't always get what you pay for. Plus, you have to build he system correctly. Look at the systems around IL that were thought to be great trunked systems only to find out they were in the local area but in the rural areas they are very much lacking, and leave officers without adequate radio service.

The heartbeats now come much faster than they did and I can hear them from all of the sites licensed. I also caught some radio tests on the fire/ems channel where they were refering transmiting from different sites. Those were still wide analog.

Cass Co Sheriff gone, hear nothing. Sniff. Saw a deputy at a gas station and he was wearing a portable with an antenna on the mic. Starcom?

The fire and medical stuff is still on the air analog I've heard lots of testing. But no sheriff - they've went somewhere.
