I've just ordered the BCT15 Scanner. And I'm wanting to install in the dash of my truck. I've already got the mount and everything installed. I'm wondering If I could hook it up to the CB Antenna instead of the AM/FM Antenna. Would it restrict the scanning power if I did so? I have a Cal Comm 3 foot (I think it's 3 foot) CB Antenna. My CB Radio is the North Star 9000 DX.

You sure don't want to hook the two radio's on the same antenna if that is what you had in mine ( RF from CB would fry your scanner ). As for using the 3 ft CB antenna for the scanner only, low band would the only place you would see any results that would be good.

CB antennas generally suck for much of anything more than a few MHz outside of the CB range. Get a good multi band amateur radio antenna or a dedicated scanner antenna. The car stereo antenna will probably outpreform the CB antenna
