I have heard they also use Ch 9. These are those super powered stations. They live on Ch 4 and 6 mostly. If your curious check out the CB radio forums on this site.
As an a side look into the legal FM use now in the USA. Canada is quiet on this, but I have been told that Canada is taking the additional mode under advisement and plans to have a position on this issue by 2025.
Typical leading from behind and unwillingness to get off the pot and make a decision.

If it wasn't for the loudmouths on channel 6, I wouldn't know when 10 metres was open! :)

Channel 6 probably isn't the best indicator, seeing as some of those clowns are running several kilowatts... If 38 LSB suddenly comes to life, now that's when you know you've got an excited ionosphere 😉

The Canadian government will take years to make any decisions on this. GRMS and MURS changes are still being considered after 10 years....

MURS was considered in Canada.
Then in 2014 ISED made a decision not to allow it because they said that FRS and GMRS are suitable enough for the Canadian market.

As well there were Canadian Fire departments sending ISED there arguments that MURS would cause considerable interference on the 150 MHz band that a lot of the operate on. Personally I don't buy that argument since the United States has been using MURS for a while and they also have police and fire on the 150 MHz band. And the FCC has not repealed anything.
