i am looking to see if anyone has any info for the CDTA bus for the troy area

Capital District Transportation Authority Trunking System, Regional, New York - Scanner Frequencies

for the whole system the following TG's are active on the Altamont tower:18,19, and 20. there are several other TG's getting some hits as well. Unfortunately at my house I cannot pick up the Brunswick tower which might be picking up other Troy TG's. BTW supervisors TG's have been encrypted.

What style radios do you both use? I use a SDS100 and have a difficult time picking up only this particular system which seems weird to me.

I have to use my 325p2, my sds100 refuses to pick it up unless I park next to the garage in Albany.

What does your display say? For me, I noticed mine works properly in only two locations and unfortunately no where near my house. I used to think I have a bad radio, but then I receive Police, Fire, and EMS perfect fine with no adjustments. With this particular system outside of those two locations I have to set the Squelch to 1 for it to work properly and turn Filters off.

CDTA is a Phase 2 TDMA system if that makes a difference on your settings. I belive the first TDMA system in the capital region

I picked up a BCD325P2 as well as a BCD996P2 (both with the DMR & NXDN upgrades) a couple of weeks ago, and I've been scoping out the CDTA Bald Mountain site (the only site I can get a good signal on with the standard rubber duck antenna). I don't have a lot of info, but here are some of the Talk Groups I've hit on:

TG 12
TG 14 (Encrypted)
TG 15 (Encrypted)
TG 16 (Encrypted)
TG 17
TG 18
TG 19
TG 20 - dispatch speaking with a bus assigned to Route 370, issues with it's AVL (wasn't mapping correctly)

Because of my work shift, I'm usually sleeping during the (what I would assume is) the busy time for the system. But, as I collect more notes, I'll pass them along.

testing my sds100, changed the nac to nac search last night, probably won't know if it worked till monday. Especially with the Albany fire traffic that I also listen to.

I am not in the area to know what you are experiencing but my SDS100, with its known selectivity and desense issues, performs poorly on adjacent 800 systems when you are close to any local system's 800 sites. I think you have one or more 800 Public Safety systems in the area that could be giving the 100 problems with CDTA.

Here on Rochester, my 436 and 536 give perfect reception of the Eastman Kodak 864 MHz Smart Zone system but the SDS100 can't hear it at all unless I am very close to Kodak. My reception of the adjacent Genesee County 800 P25 system is spotty and seems to depend on activity on the Monroe West 800 P25 system. If Monroe West is busy with a lot of frequencies active, Genesee cuts out. It sees Genesee CC activity but cuts out on the voice channels. If Monroe West is relatively quiet Genesee reception is pretty good.

The filter settings depend on local interference conditions in the particular band and are not specific to TDMA vs FDMA. All you can do is see what helps in a particular situation. In my experience, nothing helps on 800.

I tend to agree. For me, I have to have squelch set to 1 for only this system, unless I'm at the particular location where it works fine with no adjustments.

Good news changing NAC to NAC search on the SDS100 works. Picked up CDTA at the East Greenbush Cracker Barrel. Filter was set to normal.
Still cannot pick up at house but I seem to live in a bad location, lots of stuff I cannot pick up. I must live in a Faraday cage.

Let's make sure that the site NAC's are correct in the database. They should be accurate and current, as Motorola uses a standard scheme for those NAC's that very rarely deviates.

Have you heard or seen anything about a possible new Schenectady site? I recall seeing an article about expanding tower service to Schenectady for better coverage.

Ok so I am in Troy ny and when I listen i am not picking up anything in that area but when I do to other towns /cities like Saratoga/Schenectady I am picking up other channels but I am not getting enough info to submit it

I am picking up dispatcher talking to a driver on talk group 19 about a bus picking up people at a bus stop in Troy but they are using Altamont site
