• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I own a Uniden BCD396T scanner, and I would like to configure the correct info. into the scanner. It is referenced as EDACS, but when I go to input the info. it asks whether it is WIDE, NARROW, and other information that is not listed on the sheet. Could someone steer me in the right direction as to the proper way to program my scanner for Cecil County? Thank you

Cecil County is a EDACS system with Provoice. There is no current scanner on the market that can scan it. You are limited to the dispatch frequency only.

While at your computer you can monitor dispatch and the ops channels via Teamspeak or livefirefeeds.com. If you have a smart phone or Blackberry there are a couple ways you can scan the same channels via phone.

Not possible - Cecil uses Pro Voice and it can't be monitored by anything, even the new generation XT and GRE scanners. If it was just ESK, that would be doable, but it's not 73 Mike
