We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

I'm thinking about moving to the Cedar Rapids area in the very near future. I don't have a digital scanner yet, and I was wondering if the Uniden BCD996T, or the Radio Shack Pro-2096 would pick up the Police and Fire calls on the digital trunked system the city uses. Thanks in advance

Hey Michael

I was told the bci25d card would not work on the CR system due to it having the wrong baud rate of (3600) and CR using (9600) or some thing other than (3600). Is there a way to change the baud rate on the bci250d card?

CR is a Motorola Type II system with APCO-25 on some TGIDs , it's 3600 baud
