Cell phone SIM cards, are they worth anything? I bought a cell phone at a garage sale (just wanted the belt clip) and it still had the SIM card. Are they worth anything to anyone? Hate to just toss it if it can be used.
No real value, I needed to replace my at&t SIM card a couple of weeks ago, walked into the store told them what I needed the sales person reached in a drawer handed me a new one and said call customer service and they will update your account; no charge.
The principal value of a SIM card (used on GSM systems) is that you can change phones by just changing out the SIM card from the old phone to the new one. At least that's what I can do on my AT&T V180. While you're at it be sure you've saved your calling file to the SIM and not to the phone so you'll have the record when you put the SIM card in the new phone.
Dead SIMs still have some value. In fact Dealextreme sells them by the 10 pack (I didn't say they were worth a lot). They can be used to boot up phones to see if they work and for unlocking (You need a card for a carrier that isn't the one the phone is locked to).
