Anyone else noticed that Center Point Fire is no longer being simulcast on the Birmingham/Jefferson County TRS?

This is the way it was working: TG# 10960 = simulcast from 151.1600Mhz
TG# 10992 = simulcast from 154.2650Mhz

If you can use 151.16 and 154.2650 instead of using the TG ID then you can still hear them. CPFD just got a whole new radio system but maintained the same two freq.
The IDs may have changed, i dont use TG IDs for CPFD.

I was just curious, the VHF frequencies come in fine but the simulcast was nice for hearing talk-around on 151.1600Mhz. I have searched the TRS in "open" mode while CPFD is transmitting on VHF but haven't found anything yet.
Anything new about the system other than the selective tone-out?

I was talking to a buddy who is a Battalion Chief. He said they're still building the system. Don't know when it will be complete. They got a Federal grant. Right now, the only radios that are alerted when the tones go off are the station radios. They're going to have it where individuals can be alerted... like when they have a working fire and want to alert the command staff. His radio was really nice.

You wouldnt happen to know what type of hand helds they are using or will be using by any chance, Dave? I saw Engine 4 up at my school the other day with their radios and the tones went off for another station but it didnt sound like the radios were alerted by the tones so they may have been using the old radios.

The link with 800Mhz is back up as of this post. I'm curious about the radios to, wonder if they will be cross-band capable for mutual-aid with other agencies?

They have already tested the new radio system with Trussville and all is well per the latest report I have got.

No, I have no idea what if anything those 2 frequencies are used for. I was talking about the talkgroups on the Birmingham/Jefferson County TRS (10960 & 10992).
Trussville & Center Point have some kind of mutual-aid agreement don't they?

hey, all, i havent visited in a long time, and i will try to get back more often. i have a question, do you notice that on sweeney hollow road about midway between chalkville and pinson there is a dead spot for almost any radio on any system? any phone i have ever had goes bad there. maybe its like a bermuda triangle type of deal. i am also interested in matching the towers in the area to the frequencies that i monitor. i saw that function on this site.

The 153.98 freq is the input for the 151.16 freq. 154.265 is a tac freq (simulcast on JeffCo System at 10992) and is probably a simplex freq. I live in Center Point, but don't remember every hearing anything on 154.265.

154.265MHz is CPFD Channel 3, they use it often, just got to listen to the scaner all day long ;)
Do what I do, hook your scanner up to a loud speaker and turn it way up so you can hear it when your in different parts of the house where you cant take your scanner with you :)

correction, when i listen to my scanner, i hear 153.89 as the input for 151.16, instead of 153.98 , but thats the converse of whats listed in the rr frequency database. I may have it wrong, but i just want confirmation from someone. I just pass thru center points district and i cant monitor their input frequency from home.

154.26500 is simplex, or at least thats how it's used most of the time. You have to be fairly close to hear anything, at least on the HT's. it's simulcast on talkgroup 10992 & you can usually hear a lot more by monitoring that than by listening to the VHF - unless you have a really good antenna on a tall tower!

10992 is not a digital talk group is it?
I have a PRO-433 with 10992 programmed in and never heard anything.
