• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I recently purchased the BCD325P2 scanner and wonder if anyone has a central Virginia FreeScan file they would be willing to share with me.

I do have a subscriber account here at RR, but would like to see how someone else set up their scanner to start.

I had the BCD396XT and sold it after buying this new one. Yes, I had it partially filled and do have that file, but wanted to see someone else's file and see how an expert set it up.

Any help would be appreciated. And I would be happy to swap files. I have Richmond, Henrico, Hanover, Chesterfield, Petersburg, Air, Rail, Ham and a few other items in my file.

I'm trying to figure out how to have all turned on when I upload to the scanner and various other things and I'm still figuring out how the alerts and other things work. I hope to learn a lot from the forums and FAQs.

Thanks and 73,

Patrick
