• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Any bets Uniden will make an announcement at the CES show regarding scanner products or accessories?

Any bets Whistler will make an announcement at the CES show regarding scanner products or accessories?

Uniden vs. Whistler

I would like to be able to receive DMR broadcasts and I am considering both the Uniden BCD 436 HP and the Whistler TRX 1. Since they are about the same price, does anyone have a preference for one as opposed to the other?

I would hate to see the Vegas line on either but considering UPMan was on here yesterday replying to several posts, I doubt he is at CES this year.

Private suite that a sales guy must escort you to. Believe me. You don't want to spend the time hanging out in the suite with a sales guy. And, certainly no offense intended, but they probably don't want to hang out in the suite with you. Now, if you know the good local bars to go to they might be interested.

I was going to comment that I've gone to plenty of EMS conferences where I was neither and exhibitor nor a speaker. I went walk around the exhibit hall, meet people, go to hospitality suites, and catch up with friends in the field.

I was wondering if there is a similar dynamic at CES, but you've answered my question.

And yes, the most business goes on and best parties are held in the hospitality suites. It's much more fun behind the scenes at these events. :D
