Well, it is a Motorola VHF system so that would make sense.

yeah but its a Type II, so thats what i had selected on freescan
Officially, it's a Motorola VHF Type II OTB (Other Band Trunking) Smartnet system.
Since Type I was never available on VHF or UHF, you're only choice is Type II.
Unfortunately, since I'm not familiar with Freescan, I can't tell you what to use.
On my 996T, if I'm programming it by hand, I select a new MOT TYPE2/P25 system and under Site, I select VHF.
I'm not in front of my 996XT but I'm sure it's similar.
Since it's only a few frequencies and two bandplans, it's probably just as easy to enter it in by hand and then read it back with Freescan once it's working.
