You forgot to tell us what scanner you're asking about.

The individual fields allow for the selection of colors.
But.... they are 'static' - you set them and they stay until you change them.
They are not 'dynamic' and cannot be changed depending on what system/dept/TG/UID you are receiving.
Only the LED color is 'dynamic'...

Custom Alerts - You can program your scanner to alert when you receive, a Channel or Unit ID, a Close Call hit, an ID is transmitted with an Emergency Alert, or a Tone-Out hit. For each alert in the scanner, you can select from 9 different tone patterns, 15 volume settings, 7 LED colors, and 3 flash patterns.
Multicolor LED Alert - The alert LED with 7 colors, Blue, Red, Magenta, Green, Cyan, Yellow, or White, can be used with your Custom Alerts.

Bear in mind that the channel alert color is very brief. There is a patent/copyright issue with another manufacturer, so the desired color will/cannot linger for the full duration of the transmission.

Understand about the alert color, I’ve programmed them.

it’s the channel wording display color.
Your can edit & customize the display fields in Sentinel. Make sure that the Target model is set for the SDS100. When you access the display editor in Sentinel, pick your display version (Simple or Detailed, Conventional or Trunkedl,

Select an item on the display pane on the left. Then on the right side pane, you can pick any of a number of colors for an item for the text, as well as modify the fields shown should you want to shuffle what goes where. (Can’t do a screenshot as I am not at home with access to Sentinel.)

Once you make changes, be sure to save the changed displays and write the changes to your scanner.

Technically, you can edit the display thru the scanner’s menu, but it’s pretty clunky and slow to do so. Make your changes via Sentinel. Much easier to see and juggle any changes in the software.

The Target Model is located under the Tools tab in Sentinel. Edit Display will be available only if Target Model is set to SDS100 or SDS200.
