Have lost all activity in Richardson PD talkgroups within the Richardson P25 system in the last week or two. FD, UTD and various city services TGs are functioning fine. I have no skips or lock-outs set for the in TGs that are inactive. Anyone have any information?

Watching the system on untrunker, I can see calls going through on the system, but can't hear them at all on the scanner or the NAS APX 7KXE. Unitrunker doesn't show any encryption.

EDIT: Just heard dispatch in the clear on Tac-1
EDIT EDIT: Something is definetely wrong with RPD dispatch, just heard a call go out on Tac-1.

There is more than just RPD on that system. What you are seeing is UTD TAC-1. Also the RFD is coming thru ok. It's just the RPD are absent. This has happened before and they have usually been on the P.A.W.N. backup that Plano and Wylie uses but they are not there either.

Not sure what's going on but please report back if you figure it out.

not the case, heard dispatcher in the clear on 31005, and 31004, which are RPD, not UTD. Units were still Enc, but not dispatch. It also looks like dispatch is using 31005 (RPD tac-1) to dispatch calls.

Let me say it this way but I am certainly not as up on the TG's as you are.

I have a GRE800 and use the radio ref database. I am not getting those TG. I just heard the fire department. Not sure why I am not hearing what you are. The OP has the same issue so if they are still in the clear then are you saying the database is wrong?

I may be able to explain this better via voice, can you hop on the K5UTD repeater?

Blake,

The other poster here helped me figure out what is going on. The RPD dispatch and units are usually on TG 31003 in the clear. For some reason 31003 is not active at the moment. They are on 31004 with dispatch still in the clear but all the units encrypted.

Hopefully something just went wrong with 31003 and it will be back. This is not the first time they have disappeared for a while and came back so that is probably what will happen again. If you want just add 31004 and 5 in that system on your scanner and you can at least hear dispatch. That is what I did.

Hope this helps.

Last night, I added the RPD back-up talk groups on PAWS to my RPD group, along with a unique color LED flash and recording instruction. I'll go back today and see what the log is saying.

While easy to jump to conclusions of encryption, this would provide the "busy signal" tone on the regular TGs.

More, hopefully, shortly.

If you are running trunker you should be able to see the P next to the number in the service column. That P indicates encryption.

Well that is odd. I am seeing encryption (P) on unitrunker on 31005 and 31004 and in the last few hours no traffic on the main dispatch channel.

Haven't heard PD dispatch in a week and a half now. FD dispatch still fine, and in the clear, as well as TAC channels. I live right on the Plano/Richardson line.
