So on the new Utah Communications Authority digital P25 system, when two TG’s are patched together it creates a new 63XXX TG that from my understanding is essentially a “bridge” connecting the patched TG’s. These 63XXX TG’s change or bounce around with seemingly no rhyme or reason. Many of us ignore them or lock them out when scanning in an open or discovery mode, and they are not listed in the database. The law enforcement operations eventually switched or were patched into to Mountain Land Call, TG 4549.

Oh ok that makes sense. I'm sorry I didn't know. I'm using openmhz and they were the tgs coming up for me so assumed they were right.
Does anyone know if tg 5966 is a bridge tg or an actual unnamed one. It's being used for campus security by law enforcement.
Also fyi there is a vpotus escort tomorrow morning so if we can start pinning down some tgs used for that, that would be great.

In looking at the database: Utah Communications Authority (P25) Trunking System, Statewide, Multi-State it would appear TG 5966 is an event TG for Utah County. If you hear anyone mention the name of the TG let us know and it can be added. I'm still hearing UVU related traffic on Mountain Land Call, TG 4549. Any of those "bridge" TG's are going to be 5 digits starting with 63. As for the VP, I imagine they may assign one of the interop TG's for traffic or security, and traffic related operations could also be on a UHP TG, those usually start with 18 (18XX).

They just announced the patch with Mountain Land Call is being released and resume normal traffic.
Thanks for the info. This is really useful as don't normally scan Utah.
Yes I did hear that. Not sure if it's the openmhz system but can't get much traffic on mt call or orum pd 1 when they were patched, only the bridge tgs.
Seems they are still using tg 5966 for LE ops around campus. Haven't been able to identify anything for the VP visit.
