echo is used only for cadriacs
and omega here is used for take your time traffic, basically lifting assitant or if the patients been dead and someone on scene recognizes lividity

They are EMD codes (Emergency Medical Dispatch) check yahoo or google and do a search for em you should get a list of 33 numeric codes and they alpha codes for each one.
They are used for patient confidentally so if someone recognizes the address they wont know exactly whats goin on unless of course they know the EMD code.

Also I think that hot means lights and sirens, and cold means NO lights and NO sirens. I hear this frequently on the char/meck medic tg's.
