Cheektowaga NY Tone outs and how to program

What frequency is used with the 2 tones for Southline? is it the dispatch?

Also West Seneca companies?

I have that in the tone-out section of sentinel, but have yet to pick up anything. I'm sure it is operator error at this point and will have to find out what I'm doing wrong.

you need to add the tones in sentinel and when you want to monitor it you select "tone-out for" then "tone out standby" from the menu. You can not as far as i know do regular scanning and monitor for tone outs at the same time.

That is what I'm looking for and yes I am trying to monitor it while scanning.

What info does it supply? Is it a text message of the call?

no it is just the standard dispatch message. No different if you were listening to the freq. I tried it out for a day a while back but it was pretty boring not being able to monitor anything else

Thanks, with many scanners that will not be a issue for me!

I program Doyle tone-out in sentinel in the #2 spot, copy to the scanner, set tone-outs to standby and the scanner skips over Doyle.

I put Doyle in the #12 spot and it scans it. Any ideas?

If I'm not mistaken, you guys are confused.

There are paging tones and squelch codes. They are two different things.

This explains how to set up Fire Tone Out.

And you can only monitor for Fire Tone Out OR scan. Not both.
