Or someone finally installed the cross band patch from the TRS to their high band frequency they were talking about doing.

Thanks for the info. The audio was a little low, but that could of been of where I live. I only use the stock antenna.

I "was" hearing Chester FD pages on 151.370 PL 156.7. Are you saying that they are now getting paged out on it AND using it to call out to County? Is it linked to the "FIRE RESP F1" talkgroup as well? Just wanted some clarification.

They talked about Chester FD having a one way link from the TRS to the VHF channel. What I think is most likely the unit grabbed the wrong mic in the vehicle when calling in service.

There is no patch in place on the county side.

When the operator called in service, I heard someone answer.

Update: At 3:13 PM, 7/5, Morris County Dispatched Chester to a call on 151.37 and nothing went over 151.055. Units called in on this frequency also.

EJM...did you hear Fire or EMS on the VHF frequency?

I heard Chester EMS get dispatched to a call this morning and I heard Chester EMS Lieutenant 1 on the EMS RESP F1 call county that she was responding direct. I didn't hear anything over the VHF other than the initial dispatch, which was also simulcasted on the Morris County UHF channel.

e911god, I did hear the FD talking when they had a call the other day. As of yet, I haven't heard a EMS call to check. I'll keep you posted.

I am not sure if it is just me, but when I listen to MUN FD 1 when Chester FD is dispatched, I don't hear any units sign on. From my understanding, Chester FD is supposed to be operating on MUN FD 1, right?

Thanks!

Yes, they operate off the MUN FIRE 1 talkgroup (along with Mendham, Ralston, Brookside, New Vernon, Boonton Township and Mountain Lakes). However, listeners lately have heard them talking to County on their VHF dispatch channel of 151.370R PL 156.7 and NOT on the TRS. Chester EMS is still using MUN EMS 1.

Friday evening I heard an announcement over Washington Twp. fire that all companies were to use the new UHF radios this weekend.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I heard Chester EMS dispatched on 151.370 (156.7) the other night. Is this confirmed as a one-way patch from the TRS? There's no info to be found in the RRdB or in John's Morris County PDF about the frequency/PL.

Chester gets toned out on 151.37. EMS calls in on Mun EMS TG, and fire calls in on this frequency. For
some reason Chester is having problems with the TRS.

Ah ok, so then it's an active frequency with a repeater. Any reason it's not in the database?

EDIT: I just realized e911god has it listed on ECS. Didn't see that earlier. Well at least it's listed somewhere lol.

EJM...I merged the threads.

I'm suprised the FD is having problems with the TRS. Both PDs use it, EMS uses it, why is Fire so special...same radios, same system. Maybe because there is no tower located in Chester. Their VHF tower is right in there. Maybe because they didn't bother to test the coverage before they decided to make the switch. Everyone wants to save money on dispatch, but I didn't mean by not being able to talk to them. Maybe because they are trying to use a trunked talkgroup on a portable as a fireground (which is a no-no pr NFPA) instead of an analog simplex channel?

There are some probIems, don't get me wrong. The system was not built for 95% portable in-building coverage which is the accepted standard. It was built for interops among the agencies using MOBILE radios in the street. That is a complete different set of standards. Granted it does provide great coverage with the 9 sites they have. But I know Chatham is having portable issues already as well as others.
