I am having a problem using RR.com for programming Chicago Police frequencies onto a Pro-135. I can't find a list of them on RR. Am I missing something?

RR doesn't have software, you have to find program for your scanner and then use RR to have that software import it.

I just looked at the Pro-135 in the Wiki and it doesn't look like that scanner will track trunked systems. In other words, you aren't going to be able to track conversations on the system that I pointed out in my previous post with that scanner.

I'm sure there's lots of other listening in the Chicago area much of which is included in the link that DDan provided, but it appears the Chicago police aren't going to be listenable.

If someone can't find Chicago how do you think he can program a radio?
Maybe it's the Chicago Pizza?

That seems unnecessary. If a person doesn't have a trunking scanner, it might not be at all obvious to look at the trunked systems which are listed at the very end of the Chicago page.

I suspect there may be a few things in life that you might have to ask for assistance with and would expect to receive a bit better treatment than you've given him.

Chicago PD is on a series of 460 MHz UHF repeaters.

The following is copied from:
Teds CARMA Support Page / Chicago Scanning

CITYWIDE RADIO CHANNELS
CW# FREQ TONE USE
CW1 460.125 (173.8) AUTO ACCDNT, TRAFFIC, GANGS, HOUSING, CTA
CW2 460.175 (123.0) DETECTIVES, CANINE, MOUNTED, DEPUTIES, IAD, VICE, ET'S
CW3 460.275 (141.3) WANTED FLASHES, MAINTENANCE, FILMS, ADMIN
CW4 460.325 (192.8) HUMAN RELATIONS, SCHOOLS, YOUTH, MARINE
CW5 460.350 (097.4) SUBWAY COMM SYSTEM / EMER OR EVENT SECONDARY
CW6 460.250 (162.3) EMER OR EVENT PRIMARY / ALTERNATE ZONE DISPATCH
CW7 460.300 (131.8) COMMAND, PHONE PATCH, PAGERS, BEEPERS
CW8 460.525 (179.9) CHANNEL "FIVE" SIMPLEX UNIT TO UNIT SHORT RANGE

ZONE DISPATCH CHANNELS
ZONE FREQ TONE DISTRICTS
Z01 460.475 (107.2) 16TH / 17TH
Z02 460.050 (127.3) 19TH / 23RD
Z03 460.225 (110.9) 13TH / 14TH
Z04 460.150 (114.8) 1ST / 18TH
Z05 460.500 (167.9) 2ND / 21ST
Z06 460.400 (156.7) 7TH / 8TH
Z07 460.075 (146.2) 3RD
Z08 460.200 (136.5) 4TH / 6TH
Z09 460.025 (091.5) 5TH / 22ND
Z10 460.100 (151.4) 10TH / 11TH
Z11 460.375 (186.2) 20TH / 24TH
Z12 460.425 (094.8) 15TH / 25TH
Z13 460.450 (103.5) 9TH / 12TH

The 800 MHz system is used by some specialized units, groups, etc. but not for regular dispatch. I'd still program that TRS in if you have a trunking capable scanner. There are some 470 MHz digital frequencies licensed for the City of Chicago for future police and fire communications but those are not yet in use.

cubn,

Thanks for the correction on the info that I provided. Sorry to have confused the issue. I should have thought of the CARMA website--great info there.

I have the software loaded and am attempting to use RR to download the frequencies but I can't locate the Chicago Police in RR. Thanks

The info is here - CPD is almost halfway down the page. The problem is that page has soooo much info that it really should be broken down into sections.

Originally the Cook County page was broken out into separate pages that were easier to read, but at Lindsay's direction, all the city and county data had to be moved back to the main county pages hence the lengthy Cook County page.
