Around 8:00pm to 8:30pm a Child was struck and killed by a train in St. Albans.

The accident ended up behind Oliver Industries in the jefferson area. First report was at spruce street crossing. Hate to hear stuff like that, no matter who it is. I feel sorry for the parents.

Why was that child riding a bike on the tracks at night? I'm pretty sure the train master wouldn't have time to even see that kid with the train coming up so fast

Well they first said on the radio that it was a young boy, now the news says it was in fact a man. I heard the Medic say Code Black. Then the Medical Examiner marked on the scene.

Like Bubba said, I also heard it come out as a boy hit, they said the train engineer said the boy was laying beside his bike after being hit. two of the news stations I have listened to say it is a man, but his identity is not yet known. Either way it is still sad, a human life is lost.
