The CHP areas below currently have 2 frequencies listed in the DB. For the frequencies listed in red, I was unable to find any forum posts indicating traffic has been seen on that frequency. For the frequency pairs listed in blue, traffic has been reported on both frequencies. Pink/Pink2, Purple/Purple2, and Red2/Red3 have all recently been reported in concurrent use. However, the most recent report of Amber/Amber2A being in concurrent use was in 2016.

Can anyone advise if Amber/Amber2A are still in concurrent use, and/or if any of the red frequencies have been observed? Thanks.

I once heard Amber 2 from Susanville. That was about 3 years ago at Hallelujah Junction - US395/SR70 - in southern Lassen County. It was a radio check. I believe that Peavine Peak was the radio site. I've never heard Amber 2 since.

Amber 2 may be used up in northern Lassen or Modoc Counties. Perhaps Modoc county listeners hear Amber 2 used.

I'll leave a scanner tuned to 44.920 (White 2) for a few days and see what pops up. It has a higher antenna than the 6m radio I use primarily for CHP.

I went back in my scanner archives and found recordings of Amber 2 from November of 2018 when I visited my grandparents in Portola for thanksgiving that year. I usually visit twice a year and have scanned every time I have visited since 2018 when I first started scanning. I remember hearing some traffic in more recent years but can't find newer scanner files to corroborate my memory.

Sounds good, that's enough to leave Amber 2/2A in the database. I'm more curious about whether the red frequencies have ever been heard.

is alive and well. Monitoring it here in Ventura as I type this. Not much activity.

The RR DB shows the call sign is KUU356 with the transmitter on Frazier Mtn (El 8,013 feet) which is in Ventura county just south of the Kern/Ventura county line. Monitoring shows 39.12 provides coverage of southwest Kern county, a very rural area.

At times, like this instant, a unit will be heard rebroadcast on 39.12 but not dispatch which must be using another site/frequency.

Do you know what radio sites were used?

Unfortunately I do not know the actual electronic sites in use at the time. This was back when my interest in radio was in its infancy; it was not something I ever though to look up.

Just found the thread below about White/White2, looks like both frequencies were in use as of March 2013. Can anyone in the area advise if that's still the case?

Just a small update. All I hear is dispatch on White, and mobile units on UHF at this point which is odd for me...White 2 might not be for the Southern Mendo area.

I saw this in the weekly updates from the FCC...I will be making a trip through the area either tomorrow or Tuesday. Check out the bold line.

While I was out and about in the Mendocino County area, I had White 2 and White in constant scan mode. Only White came across. Northern White is the *ONLY* frequency for the Ukiah/Clear Lake area on low band. I happened to be filling up while another officer was and asked about it.

Thanks. I'm going to leave both in the DB for now, since White 2 has been heard before.
