Can someone give me a template of the CHP unit numbers / call signs? I only know the unit number from the "CHP is Hiring!" video on YouTube where the red sports car when he sped past the officer helping the stranded motorist and the officer said "Golden Gate-25-75 blablabla."

The first digit or two designates the area office the officer is based out of. In your example above, "25" is the Hayward office. The second group of numbers is his beat. CHP tries to assign call signs by the highway they patrol, but sometimes they are just "area" beats. For example 143-581 is a Castro Valley unit working beat 581, which is on I580 in Castro Valley. 62-505 works I5 out of the Stockton Area Office.
Hope this helps.

Most urban offices will also designate cars for unincorporated patrols, and assign beat numbers to those areas.

For example near me is Santa Fe Springs office (83) South Whittier beat (Beat 2) and the car is 8321. If you hear the phonetic Adam, Boy, or Charles, there may be two cars of the same beat, different shift out at same time. that is shift (Adam-Days, Boy-swing, Charles- nights, If my memory is still intact).

If you listen a while you may hear references to a beat, or if your geography gifted it will be easy to figure it out after a short time listening.

If you have a particular interest in a given station in Golden Gate area post it here,, somebody will be able to provide some specifics, but I have never come across an all inclusive list of call signs statewide.

There are "prefix" callsigns for state wide, but there is no "standard" per say for the "suffix" of the callsign. 34-80M is a Marin area, North end Motorcycle unit.
