• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

'bought a Uniden BCT15 - want to listen to City of Alameda PD communications. (Note - city of Alameda, KMA217, not COUNTY of Alameda.)

Need a bit of help in the correct settings for my scanner - I have the frequencies, and it looks like Alameda PD uses a trunked system, and I have a TGID. What are the correct settings for system type for Alameda PD radio system? Motorola type II UHF? VHF? ??

'figured this out - Alameda PD is on Alameda County's Trunked system. Not sure if they actually use their KMA217 license.

The feed is actually live: Alameda Police Live Scanner Audio Feed

but I'm not sure it's broadcasting.

I have a BCT-15, set the system to 'record out' on all channels, and holding to the Apd dispatch channel. What am I missing?
