I have a BCD996T Uniden Scanner and use the arc996 pro software & radio reference link to program it.

In the conventional list of public service frequencies 1 fire and 1 sheriff are p25. The fire p25 works fine when monitoring it, but the sheriff locks on I hear a fraction of what sounds like bad digital transmission then silence and the scanner continues to hold for a while then releases and continues normally.Do they use any other Frequencies?

If you look at the database for the sheriff notice it says some encryption so that is why you hear that funny worbling sound. More than likely if you hear that all the time you will not be able to hear them.
