• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

The Cleveland weekly newpaper last week mentioned that the Cleveland PD will be getting a repeater for their communications set -up. They are currently simplex.

The article didn't say if the same frequency (156.03 MHz) would be retained.

Where can I find the application for this repeater? I've lost the web site for that info.

Thanks for any help given.

Cleveland Pd Repeater Up

Even though the Chief told me last Wednesday that the repeater would be up in about a month, they on today 5/17/08 loud and clear. Tone is DCS 051

I would be interested in who is hearing it and their location. Output is 154.055.

There has been a frenzy.......well maby a partial frenzy, of activity concerning the new repeater today. Apparently the radio tech is getting all the mobile units and hand helds programed so that they - (Cleveland PD) can commuicate with all the agencies in the immediate area- three or four. Also testing pagers.

I think this horse is about dead unless something spectacular happens. The repeater seems to working great.
