Clint country has a St Johns tower they are currently using. That added a simulcast system. With different frequencies. Will the current tower be integrated into the simulcast?

Simulcast towers don't have different frequencies.

Simulcast towers all use the SAME frequencies.

According to license information, the 3-site Clinton Co simulcast cell WILL include the original site (Site 5) at 1260 W Taft Rd.

I understood that after my first reply, then I went looking for the FCC data. The FCC data shows a license for a 3-site simulcast cell that includes the original Clinton Co site (Site 5) location.

But then why different frequencies on the simulcast and the single tower currently? Because the simulcast is not operating yet?

The only reason the Clinton Co simulcast site would be in the RRDB is because someone heard it, verified it, and submitted it to the RRDB. If the site is not on-line then it should not be listed in the RRDB.

The reason why they have different frequencies and site numbers is because they were thought about and created at different times. Apparently after the single site (Site 5) was in place, somebody decided that didn't offer enough coverage for the county. The 'powers that be' decided they wanted to add 2 more tower sites to the county, while also incorporating the original site, to create a 3-sitev simulcast cell. When it's all said and done Site 5 will likely not exist anymore.

By the way it looks tower 5 will be included in the system. What if any frequencies will be dropped or are they all going to be added to the simulcast system? The two new towers add to the system are not in use yet. The state Recently added the 700 mhz frequencies to the tower

The simulcast system is operational, it just isn't being implemented by the agencies yet. Talking with a friend of mine who works at one of the Clinton Co agencies, the go live date has been pushed back several times due to hiccups in getting everyone trained and equipped with portables and mobiles.

Today is the first time I heard the tower operating. I am picking up Ingham county on them currently. A little upset about the channel’s going Encrypted but there are others ways around that.

We were advised earlier this week that they would be working on the microwave back haul and the 911 dispatcheers would have to work out of the b/u center. I'm assuming that is related to the traffic were hearing now.

I think most channels that they’re going to be encrypted. That’s why I’m gonna go out and actually buy a Motorola APX 6000

That's a lot of money to spend if you don't have the encryption keys.
