• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

The talkgroups that were labeled NIMS (63-71) have been re-purposed.

Each county has two countywide Events talkgroups, which would likely only be broadcast on that county's simulcast cell. The All County talkgroup would likely be broadcast across all four cells.

I can confirm that 63-71 are all being broadcast on the Onondaga system. I have seen joins and calls via UniTrunker on them. However, since Onondaga is the master site, that may not be true for the other counties. Most of the other counties have been carrying the primary dispatch channels for other counties. So, perhaps it may be true in the other counties. I'm not in a good place to get reception from any of the other counties to say one way or the other.
