How long of a run? Since this is for a scanner have you considered some RG6 Quad?
The only thing you need to be aware of with the 9913 is seal seal seal!!! Its an air core coax and if you let water get in it becomes a nice piece of water pipe.
I had the stuff for years, many runs, never had problems with it. But i have seen and heard of many with water in their coax. You might want to instead consider foam core instead.
I used some 9913 equivalent on my scanners, Jetstream JT2015F, its a stranded center foam core flexible coax the same size as 9913 with similar loss.
Going to the BNC connector on the larger cable is the problem, they do make a BNC crimp on connector for RG8 sized cable, i know because i have installed one myself, but your better off using a short piece of smaller cable as a strain relief between the scanner and the larger coax. Especially if you use 9913 because its not that flexible and could put a lot of strain on the scanners connector.
You can crimp on an inline SO-239 on the scanner end of the coax, or an inline N Female, and then make a small flexible jumper thats BNC to PL-259 or BNC to N, etc..
As you can tell i have a coax crimper and make stuff like this all the time. A good quality crimper and die set will only set you back about $50 these days, if you make cables a few times a year even its a good investment!
