SDS100/SDS200: Cold Solder Repair for SDS100 Static Issue

I have an SDS100 that seems to be exhibiting the static issue others have mentioned in previous threads. It is noticeable as a crackling on analog channels with silence on digital channels. The key "beeps" work fine so I know it isn't a speaker issue. From the previous threads it seems as though Jon was the best source for a solid repair on this but since he is no longer available it seems are there any alternatives that offer similar services besides Uniden?

Any experienced HAM who does a lot of self-building/SMD soldering or any decent electronics repair business should be able to fix it. It’s not that hard if you know what you are doing and have the right tools. There are photos and videos to be found of the repair if you Google on the model and “cold solder issue”. You can show them what needs to be done. If you do go with this route, you can use Google maps to see reviews for businesses near you and select one based on the best customer reviews. Like I said, a local or regional HAM club will probably also know some good, experienced folks that can help you out.
